Just one week left in July and people will soon be talking about the onset of autumn. They’re crazy. It’s not fair. It’s not right. It can’t be happening. There is no way this summer is passing by this quickly. Something is wrong. I say we should write to someone to make them stop this from happening. To whom should we write?
OK, so the passing of time is not something we should deal with in this forum, so instead, let’s talk about why the end is nigh. (the word ‘nigh’ is an adjective meaning, in this case, ‘near,’ and it is being used here cause it sounds cool and foreboding at the same time.)
The end is nigh because we have some major sales events coming to an end this week. The first is this huge Clarke FloorCrafter sale where you buy one of their popular 8-inch belt sanders and get an edger free. All month we’ve been selling them and all month we’ve been giving away free edgers. It works for a lot of contractors, but July 31 is the last day for it.
Also finishing up this week is the abrasives sale…in the nick of time too. We can put the prices back to the usual Floor Style price just in time to close out the End of Month books. The Floor Style price is still below MSRP, but the sale is closing down July 31, so if you need abrasives, this week is the week you want to stock up.
Drum Recovery for $99 is still going on. This has been a sale and a half for us. It seems we hit a chord with some contractors who need a drum recovered because the orders on this are still raining down on us!
We started a Polyurethane Sale last week. we’re offering Quarts from $5.49*, Gallons from $16.75* and 5-Gallon from $66.00*. I’m sure you notice the * which means this sale has some fine print, minimum quantities needing to be ordered to get the special pricing and all that, but it is still a heck of a sale going on. You have to call one of our sales associates for complete details.
And that brings us nigh to the end of this entry. Floor Style is here to serve. Call us and we’ll help.

OK, you already know about the special today. Buy a case of finish, get an applicator free, limit two. Not much more to add to that.

Here’s where I am going to side track. I am always impresses by good writing or the creation of cool sounding words.
Bonalution
This is Bona’s word for its latest products and innovations. Pretty cool, huh? The taking of the word revolution and adding its final two syllables to the company name.
I am working from the Floor Style Florida branch this week so I am learning a lot about this Bonalution. April 1, in the afternoon, a Bona representative will be in the branch, 2080 Tigertail Blvd. Building 1, Dania FL, to showcase and demonstrate Bona’s latest products and innovations, the Mega Boost, which has been mentioned in previous blogs here, the Traffic Anti-slip, which most have heard about because it is flying out the doors, the Portable Dust Containment System and probably a few other things.
This is an informal type gathering, though the associates would like people to call if they are coming so they have enough coffee and donuts for everyone. There is also going to be a box to throw in your entry for the 2011 Tickets to the Daytona 500, the 3-day, 2-night stay in Vegas or a PDC of your own. The raffle will be held in May, but enter at the this event April 1.
Now all they need is a tee shirt with Bonalution on it.

When much younger in years, we had an A&P Food Store in our little town. For whatever reason, I can still recall a sign in their window that said “A bargain at twice the price” for some meat that was on sale for 39 cents a pound. (Kinda tells you how old I am)
Not sure why that memory sticks with me, probably because at the age of six, I didn’t quite get the meaning of it. Today, it is crystal clear. The edger pads which are on sale today for $49.99 each with the purchase of any 2 cases of finish, are MSRP of over $114.00. Twice $49.99 is $99.98 (high school math is now paying off). So, by my reckoning, if we had a sale on edger pads at $99.98 each, saving you $14, that’s a bargain.

Edger Pad
But no, it is never that simple. Floor Style is selling them for $49.99 each, even though they’d be a bargain at twice the price.
