Monday’s Cushion

Ok, I freely admit I don’t know as much as I should about the tools hardwood flooring contractors use to make floors look so good. I worked for two years for a contractor until he said I should find a another line of work because I didn’t have the “knack.” We did many floors in those two years, but I just did as I was told and Jim did all the “knack” work.

Why I say this is because of the special of the day, the felt pads for edgers. We’re selling them two for a dollar with a limit of two with your order. This I know. What I didn’t know is what they are used for on the edger. I had to call Dave Posey, our expert on all things floor. He said they are a cushion for the edger and I nodded politely like I knew what he was saying. “They’re used when a contractor wants to soften the edger’s aggressiveness on a floor and reduce scratches and get a better finish.”

That’s when I got it. You put this felt pad between the edger pad and the abrasive and it acts like a cushion. No kidding, I slapped my forehead because I was thinking this was something used to smooth a floor in some way that only super expert floor finishers know.

This is why I write and don’t sand floors.

Also, don’t forget the Buyer’s Club Special that goes on through the end of the week. We’re selling the Crain E820HD heavy Duty Undercut saw for just $249.99 until the 28th of this month.
