An old drill sergeant of mine got me started on that Oneth thing instead of 1st. It still sticks after all these years.

Lixie Hammers, one of our most popular selling hammers. They have a replacement heads with different hardnesses. The four colors of of replacement heads are Black and Green which are very hard and hard, and the tan and dark brown, which are the medium and soft. Honestly, I’m a 30 oz. Estwing man (“steel on iron” as Grandpa Stenzel used to say) , so I had to call Dave and Mike Hoy to tell me what these different heads are for. The green and black are seldom used in the flooring industry because they are hard and harder, so they focused on the tan, which is a medium hardness head which is used to tap flooring into place without damaging the spline or wood, and the brown face, which is the most popular because that’s what’s used to whack the pneumatic hammers to send cleats or staples into the wood.
Now that I look at the picture, I can see how having a hammer with two heads is better than one…. I am so sorry I said that.
