Welcome

I really hope this works. I don’t want to see this blog used as a sales tool, rather a place for hardwood flooring specialists and regular people to talk about hardwood flooring.

a wondeful idea, I look forward to being able to discuss and get help with my flooring and woodworking projects.

I hadn’t thought that far ahead, but that makes good sense. I’m sure people who finish or refinish hardwood furniture would have many of the same questions and answers as hardwood flooring professionals

I know, from personal experience, that many products sold for use on hardwood floors work extremely well on the older pieces I restore and refinish.
I’ve also gotten more questions answered from flooring pros than furniture pros. Those little hints and tips help quite a bit so I appreciate Floor Style providing a forum for both flooring discussion and for those of us non-experts to eaves drop at.

I have a question or two that do not pertain to the “must have” category but cannot find separate area to ask it in so I’m putting it here in hopes that it can be answered.

is there a process that’s best for flooring with cracks and does the size of the crack matter? If it’s a small crack can I leave it as is if it’s larger will I need to replace it?

I’m also concerned with buckling on a pre-existing floor. is it wiser to just replace the board or can I fix it somehow?
